Assisted by Marie Lemieux, commissioned by MU on behalf of Odace and Mont-Royal Avenue, Plateau-Mont-Royal, Québec, 2025, approx 30 x 60 feet, latex paint.
In order to accommodate a very wet environment, rubber mats were placed under the structure which had to be primed before being painted. Benjamin Moore paint was used, applied using brushes and rollers (and a steady hand). A digitally-cut stencil was used to draw the grog shapes onto the pavement with chalk.
Designed to be in relationship with a giant swirling mist diffuser, this work invites passersby to imagine themselves as green frogs swimming above and under lily pads on a hot summer day.
