“Hommage to dandelions”, approx 7 x 30 feet, latex and oil paints on concrete, collaboration with James Lee Chiahan, Canettes de ruelle festival , 2024.
Compelled to combine various formal elements, James with charcoal-esque foliage and myself with colourful cross-hatchings, we both independently gravitated towards dandelions as a subject matter: why is this abundant, tenacious and beautiful plant so looked down upon? What can we learn and embody of its traits and history?
It was incredible to watch people interact with the wall, stepping back to take it all in before closing in on the minutious elements as if in a gallery.
